Here's who I am & what I do
Jen McAuliffe is a multi-award-winning writer for screen, television, and film who is now expanding her work into theatre. Her storytelling career spans writers’ rooms, development, and original work across scripted and unscripted formats, with a voice known for sharp humor, emotional honesty, and modern female perspectives.

She began in the writers’ room of the Australian television series Neighbours before joining Fremantle Australia’s Global Drama Script Club, working across major formats including The X Factor, Farmer Wants a Wife, Stargazing, and Grand Designs. Alongside her screen work, she has an extensive background in advertising, creative strategy, branded entertainment, PR, and communications, crafting story-led campaigns that merge commercial messaging with cinematic narrative.

Her screenplay Heartbreak Under a Neon Streetlight has earned more than 100 international awards, including Best Female Screenwriter at the Chicago Script Awards and Best TV Pilot at the Hollywood Script Awards, and was featured in ELLE Canada for its exploration of gaslighting and modern relationships.

Mentored by Steve Leff of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Jen continues to build work across mediums. Her original stage play Chip On Her Shoulder, which she wrote and directed, premiered at the 2025 Melbourne Fringe Festival to rave reviews and will make its New York City debut in April 2026 at the NYC Fringe Festival, marking her expansion from screen into live theatre. Recently Jen was awarded Best Rising Star For Writing In Theater In New York City Of 2026

Beyond writing, she has produced creative roundtables at the Cannes Film Festival, contributed to Off Broadway productions, and serves as a judge for the Telly Awards Judging Council. She is also the creator and host of Chatworthy, a podcast exploring creativity and mental health in entertainment.

An Australian writer holding the O 1B Visa for Extraordinary Ability in the Arts, Jen has full work authorization in the United States and requires no sponsorship. She is drawn to stories that are funny, raw, and human, work that sparks conversation, connection, and change.
